A Terre Haute man who called police Monday night to tell police that he killed his wife was in court yesterday.
The Vigo County Sheriffs Department says that Robbie Spitler called them around 11 Monday night and said that he killed his wife with a knife inside their home 4400 South 8th street.
Police say that Shawn Singhurse Spitler was found with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives investigating the case, say that it didn't appear that Shawn put up any struggle.
Spitler is being held without bond on a preliminary charge of murder.
Judge David Bolk asked if Spitler wanted to make a statement and all he said was quote, "I killed my wife."
The investigation is continuing but so far there is no known motive.
One person is dead after a stabbing on Terre Haute's south side.
It happened around 11 last night at 4400 So. 8 th St. Terre Haute, in which the caller stated he had just killed his wife with a knife.
Apparently Robbie Spitler called 911 to tell police that he had just killed his wife.
Police say that when they arrived Spitler surrendered and they found his wife Shawn Singhurse Spitler dead inside.
Robbie Spitler is being held in the Vigo County Jail and is expected to make a court appearance later today.
Police say that there were no apparent signs of a struggle.
Their investigation continues to look for a motive.
