Further details have been released in the police shooting resulting in the death of a Reelsville man. Police say that the man who died was 38-year-old William E. Williams. He had barricaded himself in the master bathroom and had threatened to harm himself after police arrived at the Putnam County home responding to a domestic disoute call. Williams was armed with two knives when he exited the bathroom and had pinned an officer on the floor of the bedroom, forcing officers to open fire on him. According to the autopsy results, Williams was shot a total of four times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the incident is underway, and police are waiting on test results to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
