ISU gets a huge victory over Missouri State this past Saturday in Springfield, Missouri. The Sycamores were led to victory behind Sophomore Runningback Shakir Bell’s 206 rushing yards on 39 carriers. This was Shakir’s fourth game this season with over 200 rushing yards. After Bell’s most recent performance, he’s now set the new single season rushing record for ISU with 1,533 yards in a season and he still has one more game left to play. The previous single season rushing record 1,505 and was set by Derrick Franklin back in the 1991 season. Indiana State is now 6-4 for the regular season and 4-3 in the Missouri Valley. The win on Saturday secured ISU’s first back to back winning season record since 1995 and 1996.
Indiana State comes back to Terre Haute this Saturday for Senior Day at Memorial Stadium where they’ll take on the Southern Illinois Salukis. The seniors are scheduled to be honored before kickoff which is set for 2:05 p.m.
