The British sportsman was driving on the 405 Freeway near Torrence when his vehicle rear-ended a stalled car.

Beckham and his 12-year-old son were uninjured but the other driver was taken to hospital after complaining of minor neck pain.

A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol says, ""Mr. Beckham's black Cadillac SUV collided with the rear of a gold Mitsubishi in the carpool lane.""

The sportsman was not cited over the incident.
