Mike’s Auto Wrecking and Towing in Terre Haute is once again asking the city if they will allow him to rezone his company to 4th Avenue and 30th Street. The desire is to place an impound yard on that property. They said in order for this to happen they need a new building, but this was shot down two years earlier by the community because they feared it would raise traffic in the area and be an overall eyesore. Two years ago, this failed to be passed with 3 votes for and 6 against. Again, the community has come out to speak against this rezoning project bringing up many of the same fears.  Council members say they want to do what’s best for both parties and hope to find the happy medium for Mike’s Auto to get their impound yard, but not put the community up in arms.
