TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WIBQ) - The Terre Haute Fire Department now has 2,000 smoke alarms to give away thanks to the Duke Energy Foundation's gift of $10,000. The free smoke detectors are available on a first come first served basis. Residents can go to any Terre Haute city fire station with proof of residency to pick one up. There is a limit of one smoke detector per family.
