APPLETON, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Fond du Lac man arrested for alleged sexual assault of a child. Police say the 22-year-old suspect was homeless and given a place to sleep by the child's mother in Grand Chute.
Authorities also say the 5-year-old girl woke up as the man was trying to assault her and told her mother what happened. The suspect took off and was arrested in the parking lot of a New London grocery store. He's currently behind bars in Outagamie County.
