TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ) - Peanut butter. It's something we all probably have in our kitchen cabinets and take for granted as being a staple around the house. But, for the survivors of Haiti's earthquake the simple spread could be a live saver. This weekend members of Memorial United Methodist Church on Poplar Street have collected 1,000 jars of peanut butter to send to the quake victims. The donated food will go to the Port-de-Paix area of Haiti and should arrive in the next week. In addition the group received $1,000 in cash donations. The money will be sent to the island as well to purchase bread, rice and beans.
