(St. Paul, MN) -- The state Department of Employment and Economic Development is offering new interest-free business loans to recently-returned military veterans who want to start up small businesses. DEED spokeswoman Kirsten (KEER'-sten) Morell says there is a total of 400-thousand dollars available in the Minnesota Reservist and Veteran Business Loan Program, which makes individual loans of up to 20-thousand dollars. Morell says the business must have 20 or fewer employees and less than one-million dollars in revenue. A record number of Minnesotans started up new businesses in 2009.
