CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ) - The new Central Wisconsin Agri-business Innovation Center took a big step forward Tuesday, when it names its first full-time director.

Michael Kawleski will raise funds for the project, recruit tenants for the center, and conduct marketing. The new center would be located near Owen in Clark County. It would serve as an incubator for new agricultural businesses to grow – and it would have space for classrooms, labs, and offices.

It’s part of a 71-acre complex known as the Clark County Agri-business Technology Park. Kawleski comes from Green Bay, where he served as the agriculture marketing leader for the Wisconsin Public Service utility.

The center costs almost $10 million, with funding to come from a variety of public and private sources. The federal Economic Development Administration has chipped in $4 million for its design and construction.
