SPRINGFIELD, Ill (WIBQ)-Free public transportation for Illinois seniors could come to an end. The state House voted to end the program today. Lawmakers say the state can no longer afford the service. The program was originally created by former Governor Rod Blagojevich. Despite the change, free rides will still be given to low-income seniors.
