DES MOINES, Iowa (WTAQ) - A Fox Valley man who used to teach in Des Moines Iowa has been charged there with having sex with a student.
Authorities said Kenneth Rettler of Bear Creek was arrested in Des Moines this week, and was freed after he posted a $400 bond. He’s due in court next Thursday on charges of sexual exploitation by a school employee and obstructing his arrest and prosecution.
Rettler taught biology at the Scavo Alternative High School in Des Moines when he allegedly had a sexual relationship with a student in the fall of last year. He was fired last December, and he gave up his teaching license in May.
