TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ) - A former judge has been arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs into a local prison. On Saturday, the FBI received a tip that Robert Drew of Marion, Illinois was coming to the Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary to see a client. A Vigo County Sheriff's Deputy stopped Drew's car and found a package containing marijuana and 52 grams of heroin.

Drew reportedly told police he was doing it because he and his family had been threatened and he was taking the drugs to Benjamin Kramer, who was a part of a marijuana-dealing ring during the 1980's. FBI and Bureau of Prisons officials say they believe Drew has done this 3 or 4 times previously, he is currently being held in the Vigo County Jail. The case will likely be transferred into federal court.
