TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ) - Some moms say Union Hospital in Terre Haute has missed the boat with their July decicison to not renew it's contract with Heartland Midwives. The hospital says it's a money issue.
The current deal expires October 31st, 9-days before Catherine Harris is due. She is 29-weeks pregnant now, and says she has no idea who or where her 2nd child will be delivered. Devon Kinne has 3 children, and all of them were delivered with a midwife. Kinne says the hospital's decision takes away the decision of the kind of birth a mother will have, as well as the type of care they want. Union Hospital says delivery services will continue, but the midwife service expenses will not.
