INDIANAPOLIS (WIBQ) - Well, the Indiana State Fair is over, and for those 24 thousand people who showed up last year and didn't get to the fair this year, too bad, you missed it. Fair officials say this year's 12-day attendance was around 950 thousand hoosiers, compared to last year's 974 thousand.
Officials say they think it was the heat that kept people away from the fun of the fair, including the ice cream and lemonade shake-ups. High temperatures and dangerously high heat indicies were present most of the fair. 2009 was the first year the fair was extended to twelve days, and fair officials say they'll keep the concept in place. It used to be ten days.
