DANVILLE (WIBQ) - An Indiana company has created a proposal to open a coal mine in Vermillion County, Illinois, that could bring more than 300 jobs to the area. Sunrise Coal, LLC of Terre Haute has leased 17,000 acres for exploration. Officials with Sunrise say they hope to decide if they can use the area by the end of the year.
