New Illinois Law Will Ban Employer Credit Checks On Potential Employees

PARIS (WIBQ) - Beginning next year employers in Illinois will no longer be able to check a prospective employee's credit history. The new state law is aimed at stopping employers from discriminating based on credit history. Background checks in Illinois will still be allowed as long as they don't include credit reports.
