TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ) - The first Hometown Heroes Salute Ceremony in Indiana took place Sunday to recognize members of the Air National Guard who have served their country. Each member, present or former, of the 181st Intelligence Wing received a framed letter and coin recognizing their sacrifice. Most of the airman have served 30 days or more days since 9-11.
In addition to remembering the members of the unit, their families were also honored for the sacrifice they have made. Each spouse got a bag with a pen set for each spouse while children received unique dog tags. The Terre Haute Ceremony is a part of recognition ceremonies held all across the Nation which recognized almost 80,000 Guardsmen.
