WASHINGTON D.C. (WRN) - Wisconsin lenders gave out $75 million in business loans last month that were guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The total amount was 3 times as much as a year ago – and it’s the largest for a November in 4 years. 245 guaranteed business loans were made in Wisconsin last month, up from 93 in November of 2008. Federal stimulus money increased the amount of SBA guarantees. It has helped businesses expand at a time when credit has been tight.
