Weekdays 6am - 8am

I was born in Greencastle and have lived in Terre Haute since about 3 rd grade. I’m a Terre Haute North grad, class of 82. I started radio in Terre Haute the same day I started ISU at WPFR which over the years has now become our new country station here at our company, Q102.7. Over the years I have been at every station in town at least twice and some more than that.

I just finished up a 22 year run at another station and am glad to be back doing the News/Talk format here at WIBQ. I was Program Manager of WTHI-AM from 91-2000 and hosted a local talk show with Mark Jaynes and Martin Plascak. I really enjoy the talk format because you will never here the same thing twice. I am very much a conservative when it comes to politics but I really enjoy hearing both sides of a good debate. I believe that everyone has a right to an opinion and there is value in those opinions, even the ones that I don’t agree with.

I live here in town with my wife Duree who is a 3rd grade teacher at Hoosier Prairie Elementary School. We’ve been married for over 25 years and have several cats and dogs that share our place out in the country.

When I’m not mowing the grass or doing something else around the house, you can often times find me playing music at a wedding reception or other party. Check out my own website about that here at djfrankrush.com

I am a reader of biographies, political and sci-fi books and a big fan of Fox News and Star-Trek. Yes I have TNG, Deep Space 9 and Voyager all on DVD. I also like most things on the History Channel, Science, and HGTV. I am even a fan of the new Dallas remake. I still have a “who shot JR” t-shirt somewhere from the original show.

I am also a fan of old cars, especially MOPAR 60’s muscle cars. I have my first car, a 1968 Plymouth FuryIII stored away. My parents bought it new. It doesn’t run anymore but there is a lot to work with there and my dream is to give it a full rotisserie restoration. As will all things though, that will have to wait until I can afford it.
