Share Your Reflections on September 11th

As we near the 10 year mark since September 11th, let's reflect on our experiences.

As for me, I was sitting in my office here at Midwest Communications when the program director came out of the studio and said there had been a terrible accident.  A plane hit one of the towers of the World Trade Center.  I jumped up from my desk and ran into the studio to watch the coverage on TV.  I remember telling him there was no way that this was an accident.  I don’t even remember there being any close calls before so I was sure this was no accident.  Yet, he was sure I was wrong.  I remember looking at the clock and hoping that those offices weren’t open yet.

Unfortunately as the events unfolded, I wasn’t wrong.  It was no accident.  The complete and utter disbelief was overwhelming.   I also remember telling the small group that had gathered that this will definitely change our lives forever….and they all thought I was over-reacting!

What were you doing when our country was struck by the tragic events of 9/11?
